Math Collage | Traducción a español abajo | Math report from teacher Meg Marino and her  8 year old students at the Hawaiian Elementary Academy  of Research and Technology Hawaiian Gardens, California, USA E-mail: megmarino@hotmail.com "What Mathematics Means to Me" We made our collage in the shape of a flower because we are learning about science this year through the life  lab program where we are growing different plants and vegetables. We included many pictures of flowers and  plants because we will be measuring how much everything grows in our garden. We included pictures of money, checks, and credit cards because our parents need to pay bills. We practice  math on the computer by playing "Math Blaster" and other math games. We put the three on because we are in  third  grade. We use clocks and watches to tell time. We included the dice because it has numbers. Cars have numbers that tell the driver how fast they are going. VCRs have numbers that tell the channel, time and the  length of the video. We are learning and taking multiplication tests on zeros through twelves. We included a  picture of our new president; George W. Incluimos muchas imagenes de flores y plantas porque estamos midiendo cuánto crece todo en nuestro jardin. Incluimos imagenes de dinero, cheques y tarjetas de crédito porque nuestros padres tienen que pagar las cuentas. Practicamos matemáticas en la computadora jugando al "Math Blaster" y otros juegos matemáticos. Pusimos el tres porque estamos en tercer grado. Usamos relojes para decir la hora. Incluimos los dados porque tienen numeros. Los autos tienen números donde el conductor ve lo rápido que va. Las video reproductoras tienen números que muestran el canal, la duración y la longitud del video. Estamos aprendiendo a multiplicar del cero al doce y nos toman pruebas. Incluimos una foto de nuestro nuevo presidente: George W. Bush. En esta elección fue muy importante saber contar para tratar de contar correctamente los votos y saber quien sería nuestro presidente.
