Math problem and SOLUTION from Mr. Lim Kooi Chin (sent in by

A similar problem (to the problem shared earlier by the Romanians)
Two persons have a cask full with 8 litres of water which they
want to share in 2 equal parts but to measure it they have only
2 vessels to use. The first has a volume of 3 litres,the second
a volume of 5 litres. Under these conditions can they share
the water in such a way that each of them receives 4 litres?

(Este problema es parecido al otro que nos enviaron los estudiantes
rumanos.)
Dos personas tienen un barril lleno con 8 litros de agua que
ellas desean compartir en 2 partes iguales, pero para medir
sólo tienen 2 envases. El primer envase tiene un volumen de
3 litros, el segundo tiene un volumen de 5 litros. En estas
condiciones, ¿pueden las personas compartir el agua de manera
en que cada una reciba 4 litros?
