Other requests for collaboration:

The students in Andorra need your help in conducting an environmental study. They need you to keep track for one week of how much trash your family throws away. They hope to receive the participation from a number of countries around the world so that the classes can make important international comparisons.
The teachers of Andorra have created some student worksheets to share and
invite the rest of the groups to use these worksheets as well. If you are

interested in this project, please write to <orillas-math@igc.org>. They invite other classes to participate in English or Spanish.

Teacher Kristi Rennebohm-Franz has created a project called quilt math.

Please go to her web site and write a message to her 6-8 year old students.  URL: http://www.psd267.wednet.edu/~kfranz/Math/quiltmath2000/quiltmath2000.htm
On the web site you will see many colorful quilts.  Choose a quilt, and use your math skills to observe and write down all the characteristics you find, such as
geometrical shapes, patterns of color, numerical sequence, etc.  If you send
your observations, the students of Washington will write back to you when
they resume school in January. Please send your observations to <orillas-math@igc.org>
