As a teacher educator, I am always in search of creating learning opportunities for the professional development of mathematics teachers. Presently we have been engaged in the process of preparing teachers while reconceptualization their notions on teaching and learning of mathematics. We are putting our efforts in order to show our teachers new of teaching and learning mathematics and bringto the realizatión that subject mathematics can be viewed as a subject to be created rather than a created subject. Recently we have structured a 17-week module for the in-service teachers of the M.Ed. in Teachers Educatión on the primary educatión where we are treating different aspects of primary educatión ranging from the awareness of the learning theories to teaching of different subjects in a very holistic manner. I am in the process of formulating the activities for these teachers to work with children at the primary levels. I am also interested to share these experineces as these happen in the field. Second, I am also chairman of the Mathematics Associatión of Pakistan (MAP). On September 2, 2000 we organized a Math Olympiad for the students of grade 6 of major city of Pakistan Karachi. Where more 100 students got opportunities to work on interesting puzzles mainly downloaded from the internet. Believe me, this event has created huge interests among students of various schools in the .Now they seemed to be very interested and requesting us to conduct similar programmes on regular bases. I personally see that these kind of opportunities would definitely help in creating the importance of doing mathematics among students. Such awareness would lead them to assume an important role in society where they have to make tough decisions about their and others lives. Could you please help us in identifying some organizations who can help us in sponsoring Pakistan Math Olympiad that we are planning in future and help us to send the winning students to participate inthe healthy and informative competitions on international scale. Trabajo como educador de matemáticas en la Universidad Aga Khan-Instituto para el Desarrollo Educativo (AEU-IED). Nuestro trabajo más reciente es la reestructuración de un modulo de 17 semanas para un adiestramiento de maestros en servicio que son estudiantes activos del Programa de Maestria en Educación para el nivel primario En este programa estamos tratando diferentes temás de la educación primaria desde  las nuevas teorias de aprendizaje hasta la ensenanza de las materias desde una perspectiva holistica. Estoy en el proceso de seleccionar las actividades que estos maestros implantaran con sus estudiantes. Estoy muy interesado en compartir los resultados de estas actividades, segun sean implantadas en las escuelas. También soy Director de la Asociación de Matemáticas de Pakistan (MAP, por sus siglas en ingles). El 2 de septiembre de 2000, organizamos las Olimpiadas Matemáticas para los estudiantes de sexto grado en la ciudad Karachi. Más de 100 estudiantes tuvieron la oportunidad de trabajar con interesantes problemás matemáticos, los cuales se obtuvieron primordialmente de la Internet. Créanme que este evento ha generado un gran entusiasmo entre estudiantes de otras ciudades que solicitan que el mismo se lleve a cabo regularmente. Personalmente pienso que este tipo de actividad ayuda a concienzar a los estudiantes sobre las matemáticas. Está concienciación les ayudara a asumir un rol importante que los ayudara a tomar decisiones sobre ellos y sus vidas en está sociedad. Les agradecería nos ofrezcan información sobre  fuentes que puedan ayudarnos A apoyar esta iniciativa, sobretodo para poder enviar a los estudiantes ganadores a competencias internacionales.
