Class introduction from
teacher Sue Lemmer
and her 13-14 year old students
Hi Everyone,
We are a Year Seven class from Surrey
Downs School in South Australia. Look for us on the globe at
latitude -34 48.1S
and longitude 138 42.6E
There are twenty seven students in our class,
13 boys and 14 girls. 17 of us (9 boys and 8 girls) are twelve
years old and 10 of us (6 girls and 4 boys) are thirteen years old. The shortest
and tallest people in our class
are both boys. Their heights are 1.39 metres and 1.69 metres., and the average
height of students is 1.51
metres.
We really like our school because it has a
strong sports programme, lots of outdoor play areas, ovals and
flower beds. It is a safe place to be and the teachers are really helpful. We
all have our own e-mail address
and we enjoy writing to people in lots of different schools and countries. We
use the Internet every day as
part of our classroom programme. We enjoy solving problems and often use the
computers to help us.
We have six computers in our classroom and we also use 17 in another room.
We are looking forward to meeting lots of new
friends through this project, and having the opportunity to
explore lots of mathematical issues and challenges.

Somos un grupo de séptimo grado en la escuela
Surrey Downs en el sur de Australia. Les invitamos a

27 estudiantes en la clase:
13 chicos y 14 chicas. 17 de

alto y el más bajo son Varónes. Miden 1 metro
y 1.69 metros y la
estatura promedio de todos los estudiantes es de 1.51 metros.
Nos gusta mucho nuestra escuela porque tiene
un programa muy bueno de educación física, muchas
areas
recreativas donde jugar y jardines. Es un lugar seguro y los maestros
son atentos con nosotros.
Todos tenemos direcciones de correo
electrónico y nos gusta mucho escribir a otras personas en
distintas escuelas y paises. Usamos el Internet todos los días
como parte del currículo escolar. Nos
gusta resolver problemás
y a menudo usamos las computadoras para ayudarnos. Tenemos 6
computadoras
en nuestro salón de clase y usamos 17 más en otro salón.
Esperamos conocer muchos amigos nuevos a través
de este proyecto, y tener la oportunidad de explorar
muchos
asuntos y retos matemáticos.
